Painted on rough watercolour paper. A typical view of an oil rig leaving the Tyne following a refit and seen from the groyne at South Shields on a fine evening. As well as feelings of strength and power I have tried to convey the immense size, complexity and engineering involved in the construction of oil production platforms. The picture has been exhibited with the RSMA at the Mall Galleries in London.
