Finished watercolour painting following on from the tonal drawing which was used to help judge and control the feeling of distance. White body colour was applied to give better highlights to rigging, edges, birds and the water surface. To keep control of distance the background building were thoroughly brushed over with clean water and less thoroughly for the middle distance.
