Smooth water Whitby harbour

A subject based on a number of references involving working with a sketchbook to find a satisfying arrangement bearing in mind the golden sections. Not too much detail was included the difficulty, as usual with this sort of subject, was the rigging on the boats. To achieve the light touches on the rigging white watercolour ink was used with a pen. The sea was kept flat and calm to allow reflections and give a peaceful atmosphere.
