Middle ground start

Next was to move to the middle ground buildings to establish a mid range of tones that would help to judge the tones needed for the buildings among the trees. These would need to be low key and not too strong to fit in with the background tones. Before the middle distance buildings were finished I worked up the buildings on the right hand side which were effectively in the foreground and required stronger tones again. This helped establish the tonal range for the whole picture and made judgements easier.
