Mevagissey quayside

The water was dark from reflecting the distant quay and buildings. Careful judgement of tone was needed to maintain the feeling of distance but at the same time still give a sense of background reflections. I decided to work on the foreground vessel first making tones strong. Water could then be done last making it easier to judge the range of tones involved as this would require a greater tonal variation than in the actual scene.
