Another watercolour done from a rough pen and ink sketch dated 1997 and stretching over two A4 sheets. I have not used all the sketch but lifted the section wanted. The subject is along the quayside at Bayards Cove in Dartmouth. In an attempt to be less heavy in tone the whole piece was done without any preliminary drawing on the paper and simply working with a large brush. Using a good sable brushes size 16 and 18 means the brush comes to a good point which in turn helps with the initial drawing and placing the main objects.
